CASE STUDY: Upgrading a Client’s Business Network in Morristown, NJ

A law firm in Morristown NJ contacted Killion Systems for a site survey. They wanted to upgrade their small computer network to a more secure domain network.

Their current network had 8 computers connected in a peer-to-peer manner, without any backups or security measures. We proposed to switch to a domain network with a server that would host the file share and run cloud backups every night. The 7 desktops would join the domain and receive their security settings from the server. We also advised replacing the switch and firewall with newer models that would suit the new network.

The client, a medium-sized business owner who wanted to improve the reliability and security of his network, contacted Killion Systems for a consultation

Killion Systems assessed the client’s needs and proposed a solution that would meet his budget and expectations. This included:

Upgrading the existing network infrastructure with new switches, routers, and cables
Building a new server with Windows Server 2019 and Active Directory Domain Services
Setting up a domain with a unique name and configuring the security policies
Adding 5 desktops with Windows 10 to the domain using the Add workstations to domain user right
Installing and configuring the necessary software and applications on the server and the desktops
Setting up a share on the server to store and backup the data from the desktops
Testing and troubleshooting the network performance and functionality

The project was completed within one week, with minimal disruption to the client’s operations. The client was very satisfied with the outcome and praised Killion Systems for their professionalism, expertise, and customer service.

  Extremely professional and fair pricing. Have an older off-brand laptop that was prone to overheating and these guys went above and beyond. Found and ordered new parts for me and even left money on the table when they were able to repair the laptop faster than expected.   I have recently moved to the area.
Several months ago i needed some work on our computer systems, not knowing the area i googled computer companies in my area.
Several names came up of which ZI called a couple companies, left a message an never received a return call.
I then called Killion, My call was answered by one of the owners, I explained what i needed was told to come on  by.
When I got there he dropped what he was doin g what over what was needed and they had all completed by the next day.
Ever since for any minor problems I have gone back to them an all is fixed promptly.
Killion is my company to go now and in the future.
